More From the North

This is the road we took to get to the cabin. My one wish is to have this kind of snow for Christmas this year. It's not looking too promising though.

We Found Snow

This past weekend, we took the boys, and rented a cabin with some of my inlaws, in Gaylord, MI. This is what it looked like when we arrived, just before dark. The snow was lightly falling and they had a good 6" already on the ground. The day we left they had 12" and it was still falling. I keep checking the weather up there and wish we could have stayed the week.

Go Nuts!

Caught this guy on the porch this week. He's pretty cute as long as he's not digging up my flowers.

Recognize anyone?

These are just two of the wonderful people I got to spend Saturday night with. If you recognize them, pass my link on so they can see.

Bye Bye Pumpkins

I'm so sad to not see the pumpkins everyday now. Okay, not really. I'll he happy to not see another pumpkin until next September.

CIBC Run For The Cure

I had the opportunity to help Chad with taking pictures downtown today for a breast cancer run. It was a perfect, gorgeous day. There were so many people and they raised over $200,000. This is one of the images I captured. There was a clown walking around painting ribbons on everyone who wanted one.

I played around in photoshop a bit and came up with this. Now I'm not sure which I like better. Any opinions?

Sneak Peak

We photographed a wedding this past Saturday. It was the perfect day. We got to go out on a golf course and take pics there. Since the bride hasn't seen any of them yet, I'll just put one up for now.

Moody

I got this shot of the sun shining down through the clouds and converted it to a moody black and white. (If you click on the picture, it will open a bit bigger)

Harrow Fair Entries

Okay, so I haven't been keeping up my end of the deal. It has been a very busy summer, unfortunately. Here's a posting to get you through for a bit longer. I have a feeling once school starts, I may have a little more time on my hands.

These are my entries into the Harrow Fair this year. Be sure to look for them. The categories are, in order, Flowers/Plants, Nature, Gathering the Harvest, Summer Shenanigans, and Digital.

Update for the entries: This one got nothing.

Somewhere Over the Rainbow

The summer just wouldn't be complete without at least one good rainbow picture. This is over one of our corn fields.

Tractor Pull

We took the boys to a tractor pull last night. It was a perfect night, not too warm. They had a blast!

From the Front Porch

I finally got all my flowers for the front walkway and porch. I had marigolds lining the sidewalk, but the rabbits ate them down to nothing, so I replaced them with zinnia's yesterday. And the porch still needs a second coat of stain, just having a hard time getting motivated to do it all again.

Annie the 20th

Almost every year, my parents end up with an orphaned calf. Mom always calls her Annie and feed her with a pail until she's big enough to steal from the others. This is this years Annie.

Ralph

A friend of our stopped over with his new puppy. He's an 11 week old Jack Russel Terrier. The boys loved playing with him. Notice the freshly stained front porch? Still have another coat to put on. What a pain.

Oops!

It's only been a few weeks and I'm already slacking on posting everyday. Here's a shot of the corn. It's looking nice but could really use some rain.

Standing on Water

Another busy day here, so I pulled one out of the archives. 2005 to be exact. That's Hunter standing on a sandbar, at sunset.

Guess what we did?

Picked strawberries this morning. They were pretty small because of a recent dry spell. But they are delicious.

A 'Little' Farming

If I would let him, he'd live outside. The sandbox is his favorite field to work in.

Cheating a little

I've had such a busy day and it's not over yet, so I'm posting a picture I took at the beach from last year.

A Girl and her Horse.

We finally got a chance to see my neice ride. She's doing so good. She's a natural.

Play Ball

We went out and watched my brother-in-law play baseball last night. I LOVE taking pictures of ball games. And they won!

Track Meet

Nick had a county track meet today, at the University. He competed in ball toss, aka shot put, and the 800m run. He did really well in both.

I don't think he anticipated exactly how long an 800m race was. But he ran the whole thing and did finish it. I was proud of him.

Mom's Birthday

My favorite picture from Mom's birthday, April 15th, 2007.

After the rain.

The skies opened up and poured yesterday afternoon. I was really looking for droplets hanging from the flowers, but the wind picked up and I didn't have much luck with that. So my clematis was my second choice.

First T-Ball Game

Dylan had his first Tball game on Saturday. He loved it and played pretty good for not having played before.

Look at that determination.
